Nansi and Cyd here, sitting down with the newest duo climbing up the pop charts, Touching Fire. Descendants of rock legends, these two girls are determined to make a name of their own for themselves. We caught up with them in Tokyo during a brief break in their shows. Many people may already recognize Madalynne Urban from her modeling with Phoenix Modeling. You may even know Avery Parsons as her plus one to many public events. Best friends since infancy, the duo is easily reminiscent of the generation before. C&N: A lot of people are already comparing you to your mothers, saying that you're a younger version of them. Madalynne: That honestly doesn't surprise me. Avery: Technically Taryn is my legal guardian. She's my brother's mom, not my biological mom. But like Madalynne said, it's no surprise. She's a lot like her mom, even though it freaks her out when you say that, and a lot of people say that I'm more like Taryn than her actual daughters. Madalynne: Yeah, and with them having been best friends since they were like, five, it just makes sense that our friendship would be similar. C&N: Do you ever fight? Avery: You know, we really don't. Madalynne: We're probably due for one. Avery: We did have a tiny spat once about what the count was to one of our dances, but... that was easy to squash. C&N: We wanted to be the first people to ask you random questions, things that have nothing to do with your career at all Is that okay? Madalynne: Absolutely. Avery: Bring it on! C&N: Do you sleep with the closet open or closed? Madalynne: I like it closed, because I always feel like something's gonna come out of there if I don't. Avery: I don't think I make any conscious decision on that. C&N: What's the weirdest thing you've ever eaten? Avery: This hot dog milkshake that we had to make when we were in London, it was really awkward and disgusting and I don't want to talk about it. C&N: Do you talk in your sleep? Madalynne: Ha! In fact - she sleep-talks all the time - Avery: No I do not! Madalynne: We were in my room one night, and it's all quiet, and she's like, like, 'No, tomorrow, I want to, no.' And I'm looking around like what? Avery: At least I'm not a violent sleeper. This one... Kobe, I get elbowed in the nose, the jaw. If you ever see tabloid articles that say I'm in an abusive relationship or anything, it's just because I slept in a bed with Madalynne. C&N: What do you hate the most? Madalynne: Double standards. Avery: (nodding) Liars. Fake people. Realizing you're out of shampoo while you're washing your hair. Madalynne: Mornings. And mushrooms. C&N: What's your biggest fear? Avery: I don't want to tell you, in case there's some psycho out there who captures me and tortures me with it. Madalynne: Oooohh, yeah, my biggest fear is having delicious food appear in front of me whenever I want it but I never gain any weight and live a long and healthy life. Avery: Yes. That. C&N: Which type of underwear do you prefer on a guy? Avery: (laughing) I really don't care. Isn't that really more up to the guy anyway? Madalynne: It doesn't particularly matter either way, but there's something very sexy about boxer-briefs that's just...mmm. Black boxer briefs. Or navy blue. C&N: Speaking of guys, the question that may potentially break hearts everywhere: Are you seeing anyone? Avery: Not officially. I'm seeing someone, but he's...not my boyfriend. Madalynne: I was seeing someone shortly before we started on tour, but not anymore. C&N: We see you're both sporting some fresh ink. Avery: Yeah! After we'd played ten shows, just to celebrate the fact that we got through them - Madalynne: - and that were actually officially on this new journey together - Avery: - we decided to get a tattoo to commemorate the occasion. And really, it's become something of a tradition between our families. Madalynne: Yeah, all the besties have matching tattoos. My mom and Aunt Taryn, my sister and her brother, and now us. C&N: Well, we'll be looking forward to your next thousand shows. Best of luck, and we'll catch you next time! Madalynne: Thank you! Avery: Thank you so much! You can catch in a city near you!
