Touching Fire released an album titled "The Same Heart" with a GOD SMACKING review. Featuring favourite b-sides such as Like A Paperweight, in which Avery Parsons sings lead and reportedly describes the way she feels about the only serious paramour in her life, The Same Heart was always intended to be the girls' last album together. Said Parsons at the release party, "For me, the whole touring thing was never meant to be my future. I was going to do it as long as I could, as long as it was just something fun to do, like a hobby. I'd been considering the departure even after our first tour and album, but I couldn't bring myself to leave my best friend yet. I know there’s been a lot of speculation about why so many years went by between that one and this one, and it’s because of all the discussion that went on."
Madalynne Alvarez chimed in, adding, "This was always my dream, and Avery joined me for as long as it made sense for her. Very few people are lucky enough to say that that their best friend will just stand beside them and stay on for the ride this long, even if it means doing something that she never set out to do. We both agreed that as long as we were having fun, we’d keep going, but once I was ready to make this a full-time career, then we’d figure out the next steps.” Does this mean there’s more from Mads Darling? “Oh, you definitely haven’t heard the last of me,” Alvarez said. “It’s too early to tell you anything now, but stay tuned next year. In the meantime, we want to see all our Firestarters out there at every show until the end of the year. We wouldn't be here without you!” By The Flying Gumby. Published under Column, Music.
